Making room for a reading corner

A comfortable chair and good daylight can make a forgotten corner feel useful again. Start with what you already own, then adjust the light before buying anything else.

Place a reading lamp beside the seat, with its beam falling across the page rather than into your eyes. Keep a small surface within reach for a book and a cup. A few carefully chosen objects are enough. Let the rest of the room stay open, and give yourself a regular moment to enjoy it.
